Why do teams always pigeonhole smaller guards into this lead ball handler role??? I understand you are what you can defend, but it just seems like such an archaic approach. Frustrated me to no end this season with Monty's handling of Sasser. Definitely a fan of Mitchell's game, but my initial reaction was this is unlikely if Sasser is still on the roster. Not sure it makes sense to allocate resources stockpiling undersized two guards. But then I remind myself the Pistons need to add talent/depth everywhere, so I could definitely get behind this signing for added competition at the backend of a guard rotation.
Agreed, I'm not sure why teams do it. Especially if they have jumbo playmakers like Cade, for example.
Sasser and Mitchell on the floor together wouldn't be great, but maybe Mitchell is a good mentor for Sasser in a way? Start Mitchell, stagger him and Sasser could potentially work.

Love the insight between Mitchell and Cam Thomas in terms of fit! How do you feel about overpaying Gary Trent Jr. for a Bruce Brown-esque contract?
